Prac 1&2: Activity 3. 8 Januari

As said earlier, here's the review on the shopping spree.

• Assume I have S$500 of credit to spend
• Go online & look for sites & ways to do e-shopping

I had a fews things in mind to start off the activity; Hotwheels toy models & branded/custom apparels. I managed to view offers from 2 different web sources, namely http://www.wrcclothing.com/ & http://www.ebay.com.sg/.

So here are my findings:

GBP 127.66 = SGD 283.96

2008 Subaru Heavyweight Jacket
GBP 136.13 = SGD 302.881

Generally the 2 websites have the same purpose, i.e. to allow consumers to view products on sale & purchase or order online. I find it easy on both sites to view in detail the products on offer, even the prices are clearly stated.

Similarities:

• easy access from main website, direct link
• modes of payment (e.g. Mastercard)

Differences:

• wrcclothing.com only lists product from official team merchandisers; ebay opens the market to individual sellers.
• wrcclothing.com only goes by credit card payments; ebay goes allows the sellers to determine payment mode, even by cheque.

We now see that there are so many different websites that offer such online shopping services and I understand better how individuals or companies are able to reach their target audience accordingly in the Internet. The secure platform used in such transactions, though still doubted by some, is relatively safe & should offer a pleasant shopping experience online for consumers. For one, I sure would like to be able to shop online, in the comfort of my home.
